Spot to hang out when the weather is nice

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Memorial Union Terrace is the spot to hang out when the weather is nice. The Terrace is on the huge University of Wisconsin-Madison campus behind the beautiful Memorial Union. At the Terrace you can purchase glasses or pitchers of local Wisconsin beers, popcorn, and snacks. The Terrace, which has bright yellow, orange, and green metal chairs has views of Lake Mendota. In the summer months you can enjoy live music several times per week or movies outside on a big screen on Mondays. In the wintertime you can head inside the Memorial Union and enjoy the cozy atmosphere

At Der Rathskeller.

Craft beer and great views

The Memorial Union is the historic student union of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The building itself is a gem but it’s location on the shore of Lake Mendota is what really makes it stand out. So, as a visitor to Madison, you’re probably thinking “why would I want to go to a student union?” Well, to put it simply: the views. The Memorial Union terrace is an amazing place for a casual dinner with a view, even if you’re not a student. There are several places to eat offering simple fare like burgers and sandwiches and what’s more is that they serve ice-cold craft beer! Grab yourself a brew and a brat and sit out and enjoy the sunset over the lake.

Also, you should keep an eye on the Memorial Union schedule as there’s always something interesting going on. During the evenings, they usually show outdoor movies projected onto a big screen or have live music or open mikes. The atmosphere is great and the views are unbeatable.
