Mazarine Street

Mazarine Street is in the 6th district of Paris, it joins buci Street and Saint Germain des Pres neighborhood with the banks of the Seine, the Bridge of the Arts and the Mazarine Library. The street and library are named after Jules Mazarin, a cardinal of Italian origin who succeeded Richelieu as Chief Minister of the State of the Kings of France in the seventeenth century. He had the largest private library of the time which he made available to youth cults and created the college of the four nations, today this is the Institut de France. This includes the French Academy, the academy of fine arts and other cultural/literary institutions - it still occupies the Mazarine Street building.
