Budget Hotel Marnix City Centre

After seeing the website and the photos online, you might well think this is a good choice for your next holiday in Amsterdam. But be careful! In reality it's horrific. The backpacker rooms are low and unventilated, full of the smell of feet, and the sound of snoring. The bathrooms and showers shouldn't be risked without rain boats and a wetsuit, as they don't feel very clean, and the sign telling you not to leave food out in case of rats speaks for itself! Better to sleep on a bench; at least you'll get fresh air.
