Dekhon Bazaar
Beside the East Gate of the Khiva walls, where the slave market used to stand in the 19th century, is now the everyday market for the people of Khiva. In a clearing, with some stalls along the magnificent walls selling fruit and vegetables, mainly, is a colourful hustle that I love. Taking a walk around and see how they do their daily shopping, tasting, touching and above all haggling, is always a pleasure. Moreover, the people are very friendly, and it makes them laugh that you go around them poking and taking a couple of pictures ... for me, a must see in Khiva :-)
