3 reviews of Market Des Douves

Unused market

The market of des Douves is next to the unused Capucins market. It is named after Douves, which is digging around the walls of a city, specifically the part that is filled with water to ensure its defense. It was around the third city wall. The market, the "mini Baltard", refers to a similar structure, the Pavilion Baltard, Paris. The architect Durand in 1884, used wrought iron metal, and larger glass plates to let in the light. Gradually the place has accommodated 120 shops and stalls arrive daily, to sell the best of the city. A food market for the wealthy and for restaurants in Bordeaux.
