Maison d'Erasme
This house, the home of Erasmus of Rotterdam, is now a museum. Visit can be divided into two parts: the house and the stunning garden. In the house you can see paintings, sculptures and manuscripts that Erasmus created to explain life and his thoughts. The garden is divided into two parts: one part with medicinal plants and the other has philosophical areas. I went in winter so having an ice cream and seeing the medicinal plants did not make the same impression as in other seasons, still their presence makes a perfect garden. Next to each plant were very funny dolls shaped like people, indicating what part of the body the plant was healing.
In the philosophical garden area, which could be seen as planters covered in grass with tree leaf shapes (all different) and in which new plants grow. It was very cold when I went and I guess in any other season, the plants would be much nicer, but anyway, despite the weather, the visit was worthwhile :)
