A strenuous walk
In the heart of Kakadu National Park, the Maguk gorges are also known as the Barramundi gorges, after the fish that live in abundance there. To get to the waterfall and natural pool, you have to hike about 2 kilometres. At the beginning the walk is on flat ground, among lush vegetation, but it becomes progressively more difficult. Large rocks stand in the way, blocking your path, and you have to scramble up and jump over them to reach the natural pool where you can finally take a well deserved dip.
