Macondo Hostel

Located in a colonial house a block away from the Plaza Mayor of San Gil, the Hostal Macondo is a very good option for cheap accommodation, safe and with a great atmosphere. The place,which is owned by an Australian who fell in love with the people and landscape that surround it, has a small central courtyard with hammocks, dormitories and private rooms in an adjoining house. The staff that works in the Macondo is super 'cool', are ready to solve any problems and show the way. As in most Colombian hostels there is wi-fi and internet access. As for the bathrooms, they are very simple, and only have hot water during the morning and early afternoon.
