Doomed to sink
Maca is a town located in the foothills of Sabancaya volcano and the snow-capped Hualca-Hualca, 23 kilometres west of Chivay. The town is doomed to sink, by one to two centimetres per year, into a geological fault at the edge of the Colca Canyon. Village life revolves mainly around the Church of Santa Ana ('https://www.minube.com/rincon/iglesia-de-santa-ana-maca-a223151'), where villagers come to sell their handicrafts
