Los Rilettes de Mans
Rilettes had its origin six centuries ago in the town of Indre-et-Loire. A product of the River Sarthe, this cream has now grown to what it is today, a typical product of the Pays de la Loire. The distinction between rillettes de Tours and rillettes Mans lies in the preparation. The Tours is much fattier. The most common rilettes are made of pork but rillettes of duck, rabbit or chicken are not uncommon. For fish lovers there are salmon and trout. A unique specialty that can be found in many markets and shops in the cities of the Pays de la Loire. Each has a mild flavor that stays on the palate for a while, making the food very enjoyable.
