Will leave you breathless
This was one of the best parts of my trip to Zaragoza and one that many people overlook. At the northwest corner of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, look for signs pointing to the "ascensor" (elevator, in Spanish) and you'll be greeted by a gentleman who'll take you to the top of the tower for a small fee of 3 euros. And then be prepared to be knocked away.
The tower is close to the Ebro River, which gives you the sensation of being much higher than you actually are. But, you'll have amazing views of the historic center and its iconic Mudéjar towers, the Byzantine-like colored tile work on the Basilica roof, and the mighty Ebro cutting through it all.
