Temple of great devotion
Longshan Temple was constructed in 1738 by settlers from Fujian, in China, and it was used as a place of worship and also a gathering place for the Chinese settlers. It has been destroyed or severely damaged by earthquakes and fires several times. During World War II, on the 31st May, 1945, it was bombed by the Americans, ve claimed that the Japanese had hidden weapons inside it. The main building was badly damaged and many works of art were lost in the resulting fire.
