Scottish Lochs
There are several lakes called Leven in Scotland, one is in Argyll, another in Kinross and this one is found in the Highlands, near the village of Glencoe and Kinlochleven. This lake overlooks the sea, meaning that its waters are salty, look different and have a different density than normally found in other Scottish lakes. It has beautiful views of the Highlands in virtually any direction you look. The loch covers an area of 14 kilometers and was the site of action and burial of one of the Highlands' most famous clans (families), the MacDonalds. Usually, if we are passing through Glencoe in the Highlands, when we're heading north, Fort William and Loch Ness will be on our right.
