Loch Coruisk

Possibly one of the most unknown lakes in Scotland because of the difficulty and danger of accessing it, this lake is also considered by those who know it to be one of the most beautiful in the country. That's partly due to the surrounding Cuillin countryside, which is scenic and hilly. The lake is located on the famous island of Skye, and since ancient times has been home to the legend of the Water Horse. This mythological animal was immortalized by Disney in the film "The Waterhorse". Legend has it is that the creature died here, his single egg passing the baton of existence on to a new Waterhorse.
