Seals
In Caleta Valdes in 'Punta Cantor ' which was established in 1993 we can see a seal colony and observe their particular behaviour. They come to this area during the December and form harems of one male and up to twelve females. They are an orangey-brown and differ from females with their hair, colour and size. Their food is also different, while females eat squid and octopus, the males prefer fish. From January to February every female has a baby and six days after giving birth come into heat again, the pups are black at birth and then change colour and coat at around two months old. During March to May the puppies are still nursing and dive in the sea.
