A mixture of ignorance and lack of vision makes it a shame
Lindores Abbey was constructed on a Tironense foundation in the village of Newburgh, on the banks of the River Tay in the 11th century. The monks founded Kelso to extend religious influence, but it was under the influence of the Diocese of St. Andrews. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Andrew, his name Lindores gave name to a town and lake that shares the same name. The 1st entity to produce malt whiskey, named in the late 13th century manuscripts . Of which, as might be expected also obtained economic benefits. Its control over the fishing lake and benefits motivated the construction of a church that it became the most significant structure of the community, the church of Abdei.
