A major cultural hub
The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is located in Lincoln Square on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The complex was built during Robert Moses' urban renewal which took place during the 50's and 60's, under the direction of John D. Rockefeller III. It was a remarkable project that managed to turn a depressed area of the city in a major cultural hub.
