A village with an astronomical clock

Lier is a tiny Belgian village not far from Antwerp but escaped tourist routes they usually do when visiting Belgium. It can be reached in about 30 minutes from Antwerp and in just under three quarters of an hour from Brussels, on trains that often leave every 30 minutes. Located on the banks of the river Nete and bathed by numerous canals, Lier knew recover from the damage suffered during WWI and today is a city fully restored, which combines architecture with a contemporary city, contemporary for the environment can be found in it. If the weather permits, which is not too common, you can enjoy the many bars and terraces that exist in one of the most picturesque and symbolic of the city, Zimmer square, where you can enjoy a pleasant atmosphere of one of the many Belgian beers, Saint Gummarus is own the area and one of the most popular.
