Les puits de Venise

Nous avons remarqué sur chaque place, petite ou grande, de Venise, un étrange puits qui depuis est scellé et sert plus de poubelles qu’autre chose. Nous avons imaginé qu’ils servaient autrefois à approvisionner en eau les maisons alentours, et aujourd’hui, ils apportent une vraie touche de charme au paysage à la manière de nos fontaines.

We noticed at each site, large or small, of Venice, a strange wells is sealed from serving more garbage than anything else. We imagined they were once used to supply water to the surrounding houses, and now they bring a real touch of charm to the landscape in the manner of our fountains.
