An ancient tavern
In the historic centre of Mantua, a stone's throw from both the Piazza Broletto and the Piazza delle Erbe, almost hidden in one of the quaint alleyways of the old town, you'll find this ancient tavern. We found it when we were looking to take a break from our exploration of the city at lunchtime, and we were happy to see that the tables inside were occupied by families and old people - to me, a sign of good food (my grandmother knows about eating well!). The style inside is reminiscent of the 50's and 60's, very warm, welcoming and cozy. The menu is typical of Mantua, with appetisers of homemade sausages, salami and risotto.
