The historic centre of this city is dominated by Baroque architecture, although Lecce Baroque is quite a bit different from Roman Baroque. You'll be delighted by the unusual architectural ornaments on the palaces, churches, balconies and portals, with coats of arms of old families, cream coloured Lecce limestone, and so on. A real work of art.

Lecce is the beautiful gem of Puglia. Deserves a visit and a pilgrimage.
