Le Colombier Square

This is a quiet square in the historic center of Valence. It is located at the end of Vernoux street, almost at the corner with Emile Augier. It forms part of the Napoleon Bonaparte route organized by the tourist office. This route takes you on a half day trip in the steps of the emperor. The square is the old hotel or private residence of the Du Colombier family. Napoleon, then a student at the military school and based in Valence, often came to talk to the owner of the place, Mme Du Colombier and especially with her daughter, Caroline.
