From the top, at the Cathedral, to the most commercial shopping area, there are a number of fairly steep streets. And a lot of stairs. Some of the stairs are even indoors and there are under tunnels to avoid inclement weather. Lausanne is a city that does not attract many to walk because of its many hills and the metro service is very good as well, but a walk is always nice.
