1 review of Largs - Cumbrae Ferry

Largs

Excellent

In our getaway to discover the small but curious Cumbrae Island, we reached our first stage, Largs Harbour, on the west coast of Scotland, just under an hour from Glasgow. The ferry terminal is small, but over 30 ships arrive and depart each day. It takes about ten minutes to get to the island, and so the ferrys are pretty frequent. For this reason, don't worry about booking in advance. Furthermore, if we missed our boat, the next one would come 20 minutes later. The ferry has a very affordable price, for less than £ 30 get a round trip ticket, inluyendo vehicle, two adults and children under 12 years (maximum of 3).

Usually, a visit to the island is made on the same day (early running, of course), so that visitors, mostly local (again for obvious lack of publicity this place) usually make their return ticket on the same day, especially summer, when the days are very long and we can catch the last boat back to midnight. After a most enjoyable voyage and with beautiful views (including a dolphin than the other), we come to the shores of the Isle of Cumbrae, a corner of the most peculiar.
