This place is at the end of the gardens of Central Avenue and was formerly known as "Campo de Santana." It's an irregularly shaped plaza that has a stairway to its center due to the slope of the street, a stone cross that;s a National Monument stands at the center. It has beautiful manicured gardens, the rose gardens have some trees and stone benches to sit and rest. On one side of the square stands Palácio Senhora-A-Branca and Nossa Senhora-Branca-A Church. There are also a few sculptures, one dedicated to Pius XII and another to the surgeon Alberto Cruz.
