Entrance to an old Jewish house
L'Arc de Santa Eulàlia street is located in what is known as Call Menor, the smallest part of the Jewish Quarter, left outside the walls of the Roman city of Barcelona.
This street, being smaller and less important than the Boquería one inside Call Menor, is nevertheless very important to the visitor since there is a Mezuzah in the building at number 6.
Mezuzah is the Hebrew for the place in the entrance hall to the Jewish house where the families would traditionally place their prayers with verses of the Torah in order to protect the house and the inhabitants.
