A lake to disappear and disconnect
The Lake of Gaube is in the center of the Pyrenees mountain range, in France's Hautes-Pyrénées department. It's located at 1,800 meters above sea level in the Cauterets valley in the Pyrenees National Park. Beside the lake, which is of glacial origin, there's a small hotel-restaurant where you can see views of the lake with the Vignemale peak in the background. It's a beautiful place to enjoy the fresh air and you can see marmots, eagles, and other native fauna.
