A quiet, tranquil atmosphere
Many people come to Scotland having done their research online, spending hours on the internet and consulting guides to make sure that they will fill every minute of their itinerary. But there are many natural spots that are not listed in guidebooks or even on the web ... sometimes we find these places by asking locals. The lakes in Scotland don't begin and end with Loch Ness and Loch Lomond, and there is plenty to see outside the Highlands. Just taking the road from the Highlands to Stirling, you'll find hundreds of totally unknown places, and this little lake is one of them. Take care when you arrive at Glen Ogle, because the lake is hidden among the woods on the left of the road.
With beautiful views and a quiet, tranquil atmosphere, it's worth exploring the shores of this lake (careful because in some areas the weeds will trap you and you'll end up soaked), sit back and enjoy what nature puts before us. It's not the biggest or the deepest lake, but it is full of freshwater fish including carp and trout. I'm happy to have found a place like this...what luck!
