Lacanau Beach

Lacanau Beach is in the department Gironde, about 60 kilometers from Bordeaux, following the vineyards through to the Atlantic coast. On the beach, there are big waves and it is quite windy, so it is perfect for those who like surfing, kite surfing, and other water sports. In summer the región holds plenty of surf events, festivals and competitions, in Biarritz or Hossegor to name a few. Lacanau is also close-by should you want to go. A Word of warning, this is not the blue coast or the Mediterranean coast, the water is colder, the current is stronger and it is also cooler in the south east of France.
