A saltwater lake
Lake Pontchartrain is not a freshwater lake, but a saltwater lake like Utah's more famous Great Salt Lake. It is the largest lake in Louisiana, and owes its name to a French explorer. In the 50's and 60's, several bridges were built to cross it.
