Variety of regional plates
This restaurant caught my attention when we were about to cross the Roman bridge of Trajan, which is actually at the start of the bridge on the left. We decided to eat here after strolling around the area. The recently renovated La Taberna de Benito offers a variety of regional plates with a modern touch. The entrance doesn't do justice to the interior. There is a stone with three large mirrors in the background making it seem bigger, if possible. It had checkered blue tablecloths and really nice decor.
Since we had eaten meat the day before, we chose the fish and had a very good grilled cod with peppers, but beforehand, we tried some soups to warm us up, since the day was splendid, though a little cold. For dessert, we had a good mountain cheese with abobora very expensive), a kind of jam, and finally some coffee. Very good price and space, as I said, it was very nice. So much so that if I have the good fortune to return to the city, I would go back to this restaurant.
