Serra da Estrela

Localizada entre as cidades de Coimbra e Guarda, a serra da Estrela é o local ideal para a prática dos desportos de inverno, como o ski. Aqui nasce o rio Mondego, com as suas lagoas, a torre e as estâncias de ski e a sua fauna e flora, a serra é um prato cheio de atrações. Desde Seia, a cidade que fica bem na base da serra, até á torre, pelo caminho podemos encontrar a lagoa azul, com sua água límpida que provém do degelo da neve. Chegando na torre, existem restaurantes, um pequeno mercado onde se pode comprar vestuário à base da lã de ovelhas criadas nos pastos da serra, os famosos queijos serranos amanteigados (e não só), o presunto curado, doçaria artesanal, e os vinhos e licores da região. Destaco o museu do pão, em Seia, um restaurante/museu, onde tudo, ou quase tudo, é feito de massa de pão, desde os candelabros, algumas mesas e cadeiras, ornamentos, enfim... tem que visitar para se surpreender.

Local de imensas paisagens verdejantes e onde no inverno, a neve faz um manto belo em toda a sua extensão, gerando belas paisagens de montanha. Belíssima gastronomia e uma variedade de produtos regionais, em que se destaca o famoso queijo da serra, seus enchidos e suas criações de cães da serra, raça nobre da montanha.

Este dia foi marcado pelo primeiro contato com a neve. Janeiro, férias, inverno em Portugal. Até chegar ao pico, o caminho era sinuoso, com muitas curvas, e em cada curva um cenário mais lindo que o outro. É esta a imagem que elegi, pois um lago no meio das montanhas, que dias antes estava congelado, foi surreal.
