La Ruta y Santificación del Cura Brochero

Camino a las Altas cumbres en un ir y venir del incesante trajinar de vehículos de todos tipo nos dirigíamos por la ciudad serrana de la que fuera “Quisquisacate”, etapa histórica del pueblo comechingón anteriormente Villa de Tránsito y desde el año 1916 “Villa Cura Brochero” al cumplirse en segundo aniversario de su fallecimiento, un cura católico que fue y murió tan pobre como siempre lo fue. La ruta del Cura Gaucho. Al salir del Seminario de Córdoba, fue destinado a San Alberto en la denominada Villa de Tránsito. Durante su vida construyo escuelas, capillas e iglesias abriéndose camino entre las montañas y animando a los pobladores para que lo acompañasen. Se contagió de lepra por tomar mate con los leprosos y quedó sordo y ciego para terminar muriendo en 1924. El lugar que fuera la “Casa de Ejercicios” por él fundada funciona el “Museo Brocheriano” en el que se conserva gran parte, por no decir la totalidad, de todos aquellos instrumentos, herramientas, telares etc. Fue declarado Monumento Histórico Nacional en el año 1974. Se accede a esta localidad por el camino de las Altas Cumbres. La iglesia en la que hoy se venera al Cura Gaucho es la de Nuestra Sra. del Tránsito y en su cripta descansan los restos del Santo José Gabriel Brochero. Dentro del Santuario encontrarás también una imagen del Santo Cura en cerámica y en la Plaza del Centenario nos encontramos con un Monumento erigido en su honor. Fue el primer Santo consagrado como tal por el Papa Francisco el 16 de octubre de 2016 a las 10.15 hs de Argentina, ya había sido beatificado en el año 2013 y anteriormente venerable por el Papa Juan Pablo II.
