Scrumptious paella on La Malvarrosa
When I told my friend Amy I was going to Valencia, she very kindly sent me a mail with recommendations. One of them was going to eat at the beach, La Malvarrosa. That's exactly what we told the taxi driver upon exiting the Oceanográfico.
We walked around for a while on the promenade until we decided on La Paz. I can now say it was the correct decision. As I later learned it is not the most well known in the area, I hope that from now on it gains positions.
We started by ordering some cold beers. I should clarify that we ate inside, in a sort of covered terrace. It wasn’t a day for the open air terrace due to the elements. The entrees were a pleasant surprise, the baby squid was really good but mostly I have to highlight the calamari, a true delight.
I think after two starters (we were 4) is the perfect time to get to full powers of the paella. We ordered the seafood paella (shelled). Fine, perfect flavours, perfect texture, I had never tasted something like this in my life, in Madrid they make something else. You really cannot go to Valencia without trying one of these, scrumptious.
Desserts? There was no time as we were in a rush.
Ana, thank you very much for the recommendation, truly priceless.
