La Molienda Restaurant
Genal Valley extends along the river Genal, in the province of Malaga. Autumn is a sight to see: orange leaves, ocher and brown in contrast to the white villages. Walking through forests of chestnuts with the ground covered with dried leaves is a real pleasure. The forests are connected together by ancient paths used by the inhabitants of this area. A lovely route is the one that goes to Benalauria Algatocón crossing chestnut forests, oaks, pines, etc.. And as a reward for the walk and to regain strength, what better than lunch at Restaurant La Molienda, in Benalauria. It is housed in a renovated old building and has a traditional menu with local produce.
It has a shop with handmade products (canned chestnuts, sausages, cheese, honey, liqueurs, etc..). And then, if you have the strength, try a visit to the ethnographic museum of Benalauria, in a genuine oil mill. Do not miss it!
