Amazing foie gras terrine
La Lorencita is, in my opinion, one of the best stops along your tapas crawl through Burgos. It's a small, cute bar on Calle Lorenzo that's well-known throughout the city for having won various prizes for it's elaborate and tasty tapas. The highlight for me was the foie gras terrine with passion fruit yogurt over a homemade brioche. The terrine was silky smooth and the fattiness of the foie gras was cut perfectly by the sweet and tart passion fruit. I also had the pan-fried foie gras (you can see a theme developing here!) with caramelized onions and apple compote which, while very good in its own right, was simply overshadowed by the heavenly terrine.
The bar has a rather short but well-selected menu of tapas and the usual drinks of beers, wines, and vermouths prepared in the Burgos style with drops of Campari and orange slices. I'd definitely recommend adding La Lorencita to your afternoon tapas crawl and, whatever you do, don't forget to order the terrine!
