La Isleta del Moro Hotel & Restaurant

In the province of Almeria, near Escullos, is a small fishing village called "La Isleta del Moro Arráez". The town is named after a small island located a few meters from the beach, next to a huge rock, which in antiquity was frequented by fierce Arab in search of treasure. The name was derived from the Berber warlord, Mohamed Arráez. The Arabic word "ar-rais" means "skipper" and appeared in the eighteenth century written as "jarraez". Its restaurants are famous for fish, freshly caught by the colorful boats in the area. The beauty of the place, located in the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar, is undeniable.

The Hostal-Restaurante La Isleta del Mor is located in the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata. It boasts superb sea views and plain rooms, three or four meters from the sea. The restaurant with tables right next to the sea is next to the small fishing port. The restaurant serves excellent fresh fish, red shrimps of the area and some tasty paella. On Sundays and holidays, especially in summer, reservations are recommended. The name, La Isleta del Moro, comes from a time long ago when the port was used by Moroccan pirates and sailors.
