La Granadella Beach

This heavenly beach isn’t easy to find, so, if you decide to come, make sure you have a GPS or asks the people in the area on your trip. You can get there in about 20 minutes by car if you leave from the beautiful town of Javea-Xabia, taking a curvy road with many inclines and declines. There aren’t many traffic indications to help you find your way, making it somewhat difficult to find the beach. However, the scenery along the road is breathtaking and is worth the trip itself as you’ll see a completely Mediterranean environment with colors and plants that any other place along the Mediterranean or Caribbean would envy.

Leaving the urban beaches of Jávea behind, we take the slow road bordering the coast heading towards Cape Nao. There’s caves, cliffs, and other breathtaking sights bordering the transparent sea, which is perfect for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving. The surrounding environment is spectacular. The area is heavily populated – especially with British and Germans – but there’s not many large structures, just small white houses hidden between bougainvillea flowers. Some of the houses are barely visible behind high walls and shady, elegant gardens.

The La Granadella beach is hidden behind a fabulous pine forest, and is one of the most beautiful in the area.
