La Favorita or the Glory Gate

2 reviews of La Favorita or the Glory Gate

Details in the Wood

It is currently known for housing the City Museum, the Library of Luis Sainz Lopez Negrete and the House of Culture. The Glory Gate was appointed in memory of the historical events of 1821 and became known as La Favorita because it distinguished characters such as: Benito Juarez, Agustín de Iturbide, Maximilian and Carlota who chose to stay there. It is said that Maximilian and Carlota at one time spent the night there because his carriage broke down. The architecture is very nice and you can see more details in the wood, which is something that caught my attention. It is cute.
