Coyotada

La pequeña casa donde nació José Doroteo Arango permanece todavía de pie, en este pequeño lugar de Durango que tiene por nombre La Coyotada; hoy día son los lugareños quienes están a cargo de la vivienda y los que con entusiasmo y orgullo platican los orígenes del "inmortal" Mi general Pancho Villa: campesino pobre y con escasa formación que se unió a Madero durante la Revolución para luchar en contra de Porfirio Díaz; cuentan que de joven, a los 16 años, se vio en la necesidad de huir a las montañas por asesinar al hijo del hacendado para el que trabajaba por ultrajar a su hermana, y que cuando se unió a la lucha revolucionaria demostró habilidades innatas para la Guerra. Formó la División del Norte, que fue decisiva en la lucha, convirtiéndose a si mismo en leyenda. La Coyotada es un lugar muy pequeño; cuenta con 40 habitantes, esta casa, un museo, un monumento y un lugar para acampar.
