Nice Decor
The Calhutte is the favourite bar for students in La Rochelle. It opens at 7 or 8 o'clock after "guignette" closes. It is also a wine bar which serves jugs for everyone (I love the "Jacqueline", which is 8 € for 1 litre), with free popcorn. The decor is nice: soft lighting, wooden tables and chairs, large sofas (but space is limited), beams, stone walls .. . Happy hour is Tuesday and Wednesday from 7-10 with shots for 5 €. Personally, I love this place, is large and the atmosphere is great. In contrast, it is difficult to go at the weekend after 10 o'clock because there are too many people.
