A Must-see!

In the guest house where we stayed in Cuenca we asked the owner for suggestions of a "tapas and cañas" bar (tapas and beers) worth visiting. His suggestion was a success! He mentioned the Bodeguilla de Basilia and, even though it is a little bit far from the old part of town, it was worth the effort.

The place is tiny, decorated with old household items and pictures of the village. In the back there is a small dining hall, but the real soul of the bar lies at the counter. It is quite difficult to get a place there, and the lucky ones who succeed smile in triumph and won't let it go easily.

Amazing

Impressive, just like that. You arrive there, order some cañas (small beers) and depending on the season you can get a gazpacho (cold tomato soup) or a warm soup while they tell you that they will bring you a tapa in just a moment. From there it is amazing, I'm just going to tell you that if you're still hungry after the fourth caña they give you some small grilled chops to die for. The only thing is that the caña costs 2.25€, but it's worth it.
