El Viajero
A great little restaurant
This restaurant, from the outside, looks like little more than a beach bar. To tell the truth, I don't understand why the owners don't invest a little more in the decor, because it really is one of the best restaurants in Marbella. It stands on the beach, in the area of Puerto Banus. But as soon as you read the menu, displayed just outside, you realise that this is more than just a simple bar: it's a fine dining restaurant. You won't eat well for less than 30 euros here, but that price is cheap for the quality they offer - this is really some of the best food in the entire province. Of course, it depends a lot on what you order.
They have a terrace, directly on the beach, as well as a pair of sun rooms with capacity for 120 people. It's open every day from noon to midnight, and upon entering you can see their products in a display chiller. The menu is based on fresh seasonal produce, mostly from the sea, but they also specialise in rice (especially in seafood dishes). The service is fast and friendly. While the menu is dominated by seafood, there are also a few meat options. The banana flambe, a house specialty, is a particularly delicious dessert. We didn't have wine, but if you're interested, have a look at the wine menu - it's much more extensive than you might expect.
