A symbol of the city
One of the symbols of the city of Kyoto, the park is home to the imperial palace, which was the residence of the emperor in the 19th century before moving to Toyko. I was lucky to go on a national holiday, November 3, as entry was free. Inside there are stately rooms, gardens, trees, and ponds, providing an incredible atmosphere that seems to transport you back in time. A well-kept, clean park, where you can walk, relax, or read. Definitely a must if you're visiting Kyoto.
