Kumbhalgarh Fort

To reach the fort, we had to go by bus about 70 kms from Ranakpur. The roads are bad so the long journey took us about 3 hours. When we finally approached the fort, we had to get off the bus and walk for a few kilometers, because the walls were very short, so any large vehicles couldn't pass through. So we went up to the top of the mountain (where the palace is located at about 1100 m high) expecting to see the fantastic views of the valley of Aravalli, that we had heard so much about. We were surprised to find that there was zero visibility, since everything was covered in a thick fog that prevented seeing anything, but that gave the site a spooky and special atmosphere.
