Kōraku-en

Se puede llegar en tren directamente desde Kioto y un agradable paseo lleva hasta el lugar donde están estos jardines desde la estación. Dicen de Koraku-en que es uno de los tres jardines más bonitos de Japón. Nosotros no visitamos los otros dos, pero desde luego estos son una maravilla. Una de las características de estos jardines son sus amplias praderas salpicadas de estanques, algunos de ellos con carpas. Desde algunos lugares se ve el cercano castillo, y mientras se recorren los jardines se van viendo, por zonas, las distintas plantaciones. Hay té, bambú y diferentes árboles como cipreses. Una casa de té aquí, y una pequeño templo allá. En Koraku-en hay hasta un escenario de teatro no.
