Glaciers and Volcanos
Along the trail through the Snæfellsnes peninsula, west of Iceland, towards the Snæfells Glacier area, we passed Kirkjuffell. It is a volcanic mountain in Grundarfjörður in line with the sea. It is easy to see why this mountain is called Kirkjufell, the Mountain Church, as it it looks like a church roof. It is 463 m high. Note that Danish sailors call the mountain "Sugar Top".
