King´s College and its own choir
King's College, Cambridge, is 1 of the colleges that make up Cambridge University. Its full name is The King's College of Our Lady and St. Nicholas in Cambridge, within the university people call it King's. The college chapel, one of the examples of late Gothic architecture, was constructed over a period of 100 years in 3 stages. The characteristics of the chapel are the biggest fan vault in the world, windows and the "Adoration of the Magi" by Rubens. The chapel is in use as a place of religion as well as for concerts and other events of the college. The world famous chapel choir has students as singers and choristers.
The choir sings during services most days of the course, and also makes performances and recordings and broadcasts. In particular, we have issued his Nine Lessons and Choir at the BBC, from the chapel on Christmas Eve, for many decades. There is also a mixed choir made up of men and women, called King's Voices (voices of King's), who sings on Mondays during school term. The chapel is seen as a symbol of the city of Cambridge, as can be seen in the city logo
