1 review of Killens Pond State Park

Historic pond and excellent water park in summer

Killens Pond State Park is a wooded park that runs along the colorfully-named Murderkill River near Felton, Delaware. The pond was actually created for a mill set up by Dutch colonists during the early days of the state, but these days it's pure nature. The park is set up for fishing, boating, and camping but the honest reason why Killens Pond State Park is so popular is the Killens Pond Water Park, a popular local haunt in the summertime. The water park has swimming pools, kiddie pools, two large water slides , and a play fort covered in water guns and fountains. If you're passing through the Felton area with kids, it's the perfect place to go and cool off.

Killens Pond State Park also has plenty of trails to explore but my favorite is the Life Course Trail because it has a lot of exercise stations set up over its 1-mile length. Who needs a gym?! Of course, the park isn't just woods and water parks...there are picnic areas, a nature center, and even an 18-hole Frisbee golf course. If you've never tried playing Frisbee golf before, it's a blast and is perfect for family or a group of friends.
