Kilkenny Castle

This is located on the Nore River and is surrounded by fantastic gardens. Also close by is the city center. This castle belonged to the Butler family, and was sold for £50 in the mid-twentieth century to a local group, but now belongs to the state . Here, you can enjoy some of the national art collection that is exposed there. Since 2002, there are large ceremonies celebrating graduation from the nearby college.

The castle is beautiful and the garden is lovely when the weather is not too bad. The river can be accessed from it and it is close to other main atractions in Kilkenny. I recommend going early to make sure you don't have to rush because they're closing.
